Law Firm, Midlands
Our client is a multi site regional commercial
law firm. The firm enjoys a first class reputation
and over the past few years has gone through
a period of substantial expansion. The firm
is now seeking a new ICT Director to work
from its offices in the Midlands. Reporting
to the Managing Partner, the postholder will
play a pivotal part in shaping the firm's
ICT direction, ensuring that technology is
utilised to enhance business efficiency. The
postholder will operate at board level and
will be expected to make a significant contribution
to the development and management of the firm
beyond the parameters of the ICT Department.
The role will be responsible for the following:
•To identify solutions in terms of business
process management both internally and on
a business-to-business basis in liaison with
client partners •To identify and shape
new and creative IT initiatives in terms of
product or service developments, generating
acceptance and enthusiasm for them within
the firm by enhancing the user experience
•To develop frameworks which provide
a basis for the definition of quality standards
and service improvements •To establish
effective systems and procedures to help leverage
management information for the purpose of
business planning, performance measurement
and client service enhancement •Regular
and informal liaison with partners, lawyers
and support staff to keep abreast of IT and
business developments, maintain awareness
of progress on key projects and identify development
opportunities •Develop appropriate metrics
in order to measure and evaluate the business
value of IT initiatives •To ensure the
value potential in terms of outcomes from
IT initiatives is fulfilled •To ensure
that IT initiatives are project managed in
a professional and effective manner •To
ensure that the business is prepared both
organisationally and culturally to engage
with change, such that new business processes
and IT systems are thoroughly embedded within
the organisation •Maintain a comprehensive
understanding of the legal sector and IT trends
generally and ensure that the firm is suitably
aligned •To develop and manage positive
relationships with external suppliers of systems
and services •In liaison with the relevant
directors and partners, ensure compliance
with relevant legislation and best practice,
in terms of issues such as security, data
protection, knowledge management, security,
system usage, email and the Internet and software
auditing etc •Control of firm-wide and
project specific IT budgets enabling the delivery
of superior solutions to internal clients.
This is a senior position and candidates are
sought with a background in ICT Directorship
in a partnership environment. Full details
